URBAN COYOTE THREAT

Coyote numbers have increased significantly over the past 30 years or so. They have adapted well in urban/suburban settings, and are here to stay, which is why we must learn to live with them. Most coyote conflicts with humans occur when people feed them, so allow coyotes to remain wild and DO NOT FEED them. Even unintentionally.

Coyote removal in an urban setting is one of the more challenging wildlife problems we deal with, in part, due to people, pets and abundance of other wildlife we must deal with during the removal process.

Clients usually want ALL coyotes removed, but this approach can, and usually does make the problem worse, so our approach is to target problem coyote(s), without making the problem worse.

COYOTE THREAT SUCCESS

At Critters Gone Urban, we start by educating our clients. To have a successful program, it’s important our clients are educated about coyotes, and how to coexist with them because not all coyotes are bad. Also, to help clients understand and recognize specific patterns of aggression from coyotes because the pattern of aggression is what we use to determine level of coyote threat and when coyote removal is a must.
